    The Director of Employee & Labor Relations is esponsible for coordinating and directing the Employee Relations programs and functions. Primary responsibility for management of labor and employee relations, HR Administration, safety programs and workers compensation. 

    Responsibilities/Qualifications/Skillset

    • Formulates and recommends program goals and objectives in all areas of employee relations.
    • Manages all management-labor relations.
    • Ensures company is in compliance with CBA’s.
    • Assists with collective bargaining.
    • Investigates problems, such as: working conditions, disciplinary actions, BUE grievances. Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution.
    • Investigates and responds to all state agency complaints (BOLI, EEOC, etc.).
    • Evaluates or reviews evaluations of performance on designated employees; effectively recommends hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary, and commendatory actions of appropriate staff. Prepares and presents required and special reports.

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources/labor relations or business administration.
    • SPHR/PHR required.
    • Five years of experience in HR management, three years of which must have been in a responsible labor relations position within healthcare preferably long-term care.  
    • Must possess considerable knowledge of management-labor relations; principles, practices, and procedures of HR.
    • Must have thorough knowledge in the specific areas of merit systems, job content, qualifications, of a wide variety of positions related to wage and salary administration.
    • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel as needed.
