IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE ORIENTATION, AND BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS CLASS, YOU MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED BY THE INOFRMATION ORIENTATION.  I WILL REQUIRE PROOF (A VALID, COMPLETE, AND LEGIBLE VACCINATION CARD) WHEN YOU COME FOR THE INFORMATION ORIENTATON.

Please be aware these class dates are subject to change (earlier start date by about a week) due to the possibility of having to extend the clinical portion for some classes for low staffing due to COVID-19.

 

Dates and times will be solidified at the information orientation.

 

Students successfully completing this class are eligible to apply for testing to become a CNA in the State of Oregon.

 

All candidates must complete registration (fill out online application) by October 10, 2021 at 5:00pm

 

You must complete the entire online registration process to be considered. Registration does not guarantee a spot. Late registrants must submit a completed paper registration (application) and contact the Primary Instructor directly.

 

Please note: Avamere has facilities all over the state of Oregon. There are classes offered by Avamere in Salem, Bend, Coos Bay, Portland, and Eugene.

 

Selected candidates will be required to attend (by written invitation/e-vite ONLY) an Informational Orientation on October 19, 2021, held at. 12:00pm.

Classroom Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM (96 hours)

Clinical Monday-Friday: 6:00 AM to 2:00PM (at least 75 hours)

Details

This is a great start to become a Nursing Assistant in the State of Oregon. If you eventually decide to further your healthcare career, Avamere offers tuition reimbursement for Nursing School after one year of full-time employment!

 

You will learn to:

  • Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.
  • Review care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident’s daily care routine have been made on the care plan.
  • Inform the Nurse Supervisor of any changes in the resident’s condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the resident’s care plan.
  • Assist resident’s with daily needs, including preparation for activity and social programs, and transporting residents to/from appointments.
  • Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
  • Ensure that resident’s rooms are ready for receiving and make residents comfortable.
  • Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
  • Must possess a minimum of a 10th grade education, able to read and understand college level texts and vocabulary, handle ther eading assignments of several chapters a day, and daily quizzes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate necessary resident information to Charge Nurses, Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
