The primary responsibility of this position is to perform coordinated follow up on Medicare, managed care and primary payer claims for Avamere Health Services locations.

Responsibilities/Qualifications/Skillset

  • Communicate with Avamere Health Services locations regarding outstanding claims and the pay statuses for their location.
  • Investigate and resolve bill errors.
  • Check claim statuses through Medicare DDE system and variousHMO websites.
  • Work with various insurance companies to complete payment of claims.
  • Research accounts thoroughly and document processes for each claim status.

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent; additional education or training preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in medical claims collections.
  • Knowledgeable of Medicare Part A claims and payment processes highly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional telephone demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and verbal skills (both written and oral) in order to effectively problem solve with other employees, all levels of Avamere staff and third parties external to Avamere.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to maintain accurate records, provide consistent follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate and solve problems with minimal assistance.
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently; independently and unsupervised.
  • Must maintain a high standard of confidentiality and honesty.
  • Proven capability for effective use of computer systems including spreadsheet, word processing and email software.
  • Understanding of modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment.
